Santa’s bed
Here’s a shot of Santa getting out of bed from The Year Without a Santa Claus.—the thumbnail sketch and the tight sketch. Luckily I came to my senses and realized that Santa wouldn’t sleep in a four-poster—but a sleigh bed!

The four poster was certainly appropriate, with its North Pole posts, but the sleigh bed is spot on! Virginia’s right. Brilliant. Made you smile when it occurred to you to use the sleigh bed, didn’t it? You have a fertile imagination, John. I love how the bed is bowed under Santa’s weight. And Mrs. Claus looks very snuggly there, indicated with just a few well placed lines to bury her in the blankets and pillows.
