Like your site – I am searching for a book about 4 color process for kids. Do not know the name or author, but LOVED the book and it is lost! It contained some overlays. Are you familiar with this book/author and where I could purchase it.
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this book, Mary, but it sounds like a good one! Maybe one of my readers will know the title.
Could it possibly be _Color_ (or maybe _Color, Color, Color, Color_ ) by Ruth Heller? It seems to be out-of-print but available from used book sellers. I hope this helps. 🙂

Maybe our first move should have been to ask a librarian—thanks, Karen!
My friend Ron Magnes also points to that book—”John, I was researching this topic awhile back and came across this book. It states to have acetate overlays of the color breakdowns and is geared toward children 7 and up. I’ve never seen the inside of this book so I’m not sure if it’s what you’re looking for.”
