For school librarians

In the March/April Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators Bulletin, Alexis O’Neill offers some tips for finding funding for school visits.  I can’t find an online version of the article, but she directs me to this link, which has some good information about organizing a school visit.

Planning an author visit is definitely a huge (and expensive) endeavor for a school. To do it right, a lot of time and planning goes into it! In the end, it’s all worth it! Providing this rich experience for kids makes it all worth it! The people of California are fortunate to have the grant opportunity metioned in Ms. O’Neill’s article. I’ve got to look into some more local opportunties for my school!
