Thanks, everyone. Charles E.—the designers at the publishing house incorporate my sketch into a layout. They send me the layout digitally and I print it out to painting size. After stapling watercolor paper to a piece of plywood, I put Saral paper (http://www.saralpaper.com/) between the layout and the watercolor paper. I trace the image on the layout with a ballpoint pen. It’s low-tech.
